The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has added N-(hydroxymethyl)acrylamide to the EU-Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC). This chemical can cause cancer or genetic defects and is mostly used in polymers and in the production of other chemicals, textiles, leather or fur. This expands the list to 224 chemicals.
