SCIP Data Xchange
Companies that are supplying products/articles containing SVHC´s with a concentration above 0.1 % weight by weight are obliged to submit information on these products/articles to the SCIP database.
The Obligation to Report is in Force Since 05th January 2021
The aim is to reduce the presence of hazardous substances in products and promote the substition with non-hazardous substances.
Following information needs to submitted to the SCIP database if your are a importer/retailer, producer or assembler, placing a SVHC containing product on the European market:
- The article that is containing the SVHC (Article No.)
- Name of SVHC, concentration and the location in the article
- Optionally: Safe use information, disassembly instructions, pictures
Challenges
Uploading dossiers using the SCIP user interface is a time consuming manual process
Report the BOM items leading to the SVHC containing part is hard to manage

Materials and substances are not managed in the BOM
Substance Compliance data is not available in the right format
