New SVHC substances on the ECHA Candidate List

On January 21, ECHA has added five more hazardous substances to the Candidate List. Are your products or components affected?

New SVHC substances on the ECHA Candidate List: 

  • Octamethyltrisiloxane (CAS 107-51-7)
    Flammable liquid, commonly used in cosmetics and cleaning products.
  • O,O,O-triphenyl phosphorothioate (TPPT) (CAS 597-82-0)
    Highly toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects, often found in lubricants and greases.
  • Reaction mass of: triphenylthiophosphate and tert-butylated phenyl derivatives (CAS 192268-65-8)
    Very toxic to aquatic life and suspected of harming fertility or unborn children. Used in hydraulic fluids and lubricants.
  • Perfluamine (CAS 338-83-0)
    Toxic in contact with skin, harmful if swallowed, and causes serious eye irritation. Found in electronics and machinery manufacturing.
  • 6-[(C10-C13)-alkyl-(branched, unsaturated)-2,5-dioxopyrrolidin-1-yl] hexanoic acid (CAS 2156592-54-8)
    May harm fertility or unborn children. Commonly used in hydraulic fluids and metalworking fluids.
How to Check Your Bill of Materials for New Hazardous Substances:

Open the Extended Search in the “Catalog” menu.
Here, you can search your bill of materials using all desired parameters.

To check whether your products and components contain new hazardous substances, follow these steps:

  • Open the “Declaration Content Filter” field.
  • Select “Part” under Object Type.
  • Enter the CAS number of the hazardous substance under “Substances”, e.g., 107-51-7.
    TIP: You can add more CAS numbers using the plus symbol and check all substances at once.
  • Confirm your selection with a double-click or by clicking the plus symbol.
  • In the new window, click “Search”.

You will now see a list of all parts in your bill of materials that contain the specified substance.

The affected parts can be exported as a list.
