REACH Update: Three New SVHC Substances Added to the Candidate List!
On June 25, 2025, ECHA added three more substances of very high concern (SVHC) to the REACH Candidate List – bringing the total to 250 entries!
Overview of the New Substances:
- 1,1,1,3,5,5,5-Heptamethyl-3-[(trimethylsilyl)oxy]trisiloxane
EC:241-867-7 CAS:17928-28-8
Use: Cosmetics, perfumes, laboratory reagents
🔺 Classified as vPvB (very persistent & very bioaccumulative) - Decamethyltetrasiloxane
EC:205-491-7 CAS:141-62-8
Use: Cosmetics, industrial lubricants, automotive care products
🔺 Also classified as vPvB
Potential applications of both substances include:
Electrical, electronic and optical devices, semiconductors, machinery and vehicles, ORC turbines, car care products, air fresheners, silicone sealants, fillers, cleaning products, cosmetics, building material sealants, and plastic products.

Chemical name:Tetra(Sodium/Potassium) 7-[(E)-{2-acetamido-4-[(E)-(4-{[4-chloro-6-({2-[(4-fluoro-6-{[4-(vinylsulfonyl)phenyl]amino}-1,3,5-triazine-2-yl)amino]propyl}amino)-1,3,5-triazine-2-yl]amino}-5-sulfonato-1-naphthyl)]
Use: Textile processing, dyes, color fixing agents, impregnating agents
🔺 Classified as toxic to reproduction (Article 57c)
Reactive Brown 51 may be found in: clothing, footwear, flooring, and toys.

Activate the New REACH Regulation with One Click
The Substantio software has been updated in line with the latest Candidate List. You can now check your BOMs (bills of materials) for the newly added SVHCs from the June 2025 REACH update – all with a single click.
Here’s how:
- Open your Substantio software and click on “Administration” > “Regulations” in the left menu.
- You’ll see a list of installed regulations and their update status.
- Find “REACH Candidate List (SVHC, Article 33) – June 2025”, tick the “Active” checkbox – and you’re done.
You can now check your product lists for compliance with the latest REACH update.
