User Guides for the Declaration of parts RCD, FMD or Other
An RCD (Regulatory Compliance Declaration) is a formal declaration with which you document whether your product meets the legal requirements.
Important: Prepare the declarations of conformity as proof of compliance with the regulations.
Note: If the regulations change, you must make a new declaration.
For an FMD (Full Material Declaration), you must provide a complete list of all materials and substances contained in a product.
Advantage: An FMD is the best form of declaration. If regulations change, you do not have to declare again.
Note: As 91% of the product weight must be declared, you must also be aware of 91% of the materials and substances used.
Choose an AD (Abstract Declaration) if there is no information on the materials or the product is outdated, not available, unknown or cannot be assigned.
Advantage: Very little effort and no documents required.
Note: This form of declaration is not sufficient in the long term.
